Why have you chosen to teach the Person Centred Approach?
We believe there is space and a need to offer a Person Centred training programme, and whilst it is one approach to counselling and psychotherapy, we feel it is relevant in an ever-changing world, and that it can guide various everyday relationships.
At the heart of the approach is a relationship characterised by genuineness (congruence), understanding (empathy) and acceptance (unconditional positive regard), and we believe this kind of relationship can enable a person to become who they really are or would like to be.
Are your courses right for me?
Our courses may be right for you, if you are at a point in your life where you can meet the demands of the courses, and they are a 'good fit' for you. One of the key aims of our application and interview process is to establish both.
You do not need any previous knowledge and experience in counselling or counselling skills to be considered for the Certificate in Person Centred Counselling Skills & Theory, and this course provides sound preparation for the Diploma in Person Centred Counselling.
Are your courses recognised by a professional body?
Our courses are new, yet we will apply for course recognition and accreditation in the near future. We will provide updates about this, including in our course booklet and student handbook.
We do have an External Examiner, and it is his role to monitor the content, delivery and assessment processes of our courses - to ensure they meet the national standards for counselling training.
Will your Diploma course qualify me to practice as a Counsellor?
Yes - successful completion of this course will lead to a professional qualification in counselling, and you can work towards registrant membership of the National Counselling Society, and prepare for employment or self-employment within the counselling field.
Can I study your courses if I do not want to become a Counsellor?
Yes - our courses are invaluable if you want to use counselling skills in other work areas, such as teaching, nursing, health or social work. Counselling skills can be used in a variety of situations and settings, and many employers recognise the value of these skills.
Can I pay the course fees by instalments?
Yes, we offer a monthly payment plan following receipt of the enrolment deposit, and we accept payments by standing order, bank transfer or cheque. Course fees are currently self-funded and funded by an employer.
